W2W is proud to support our women missionaries both at home and across the globe. We will continue to invest into their lives and ministries as God calls them to “GO BEYOND” their comfort zones and reach lives for Him. Project Patch Party
As God has called us all to reach beyond ourselves into the lives of others – missions gives us an avenue to make a difference in the lives of other women. Women across our district host “Patch Parties” which bring a community of women together with a heart of purpose for change.
At a Patch Party, each woman designs and decorates a patch and donates $10 with her patch. 30 patches are collected and sent with the cheque to district office – which forwards all the funds and patches to our sewing school in South Africa. The sewing school in Africa helps women who are trapped in the sex trade to have a new brighter future. They are brought in and given the opportunity to develop a sewing career. These women that have no other means of providing for their families are then helped with these funds to learn the art of sewing. Her first project is learning how to sew the “30 patches of love” together which were sent from Canada and once completed they make a beautiful quilt for an orphan. The finances that are given with one quilt provides enough support for employment and schooling for each woman for 2 years. This gives them the opportunity to learn a skill, earn an income for their children, and have a better quality of life and future. Did you know that one little patch could make such a big difference?
